Short Circuit and
Earth Fault Indicators

A. Eberle Africa’s short-circuit and earth fault indicators are designed to combine the advantages of multiple fault location methods, allowing each to be prioritised and weighted to suit specific application requirements. This intelligent combination ensures precise fault detection and optimal performance across various network configurations. Ideally suited for both digital and conventional secondary substations, these indicators also deliver exceptional reliability and functionality at the primary substation level.

EOR 3DS

A versatile earth fault location relay EOR-3DS

The EOR-3DS combines short-circuit and earth fault location in a single compact device. It can be used as a classic earth fault and short-circuit indicator, as well as digitisation unit for secondary substations. The device combines the advantages of various location processes. Through the prioritization and weighting of the location processes, they can be combined perfectly. This makes the EOR-3DS a superior aid when locating earth faults and short-circuits in analog as well as in digital secondary substations.

Earth fault and short-circuit location in a single device EOR-1DS

The EOR-1DS combines short-circuit and earth fault location in single compact device at an attractive price. The installed device can be used as an non-directional short-circuit and earth fault indicator (pulse location). For this purpose, only Rogowski phase current sensors of type SR55 are needed – and these sensors are included in the package. In addition, the device can also be used as a directional short-circuit and earth fault indicator (pulse locating + qu2 wiper), provided that an additional voltage measurement is available. However, the device shows its full potential when you connect modern small signal sensors for high accuracy current and voltage measurement. Together with the built-in protocol support of Modbus RTU, you can not only determine very precise current, voltage and power measurement values without gaps, but also transmit them via remote messaging, for better network transparency. An essential function in times of the energy transition, where conditions in our power grids are changing rapidly and continuously.
